Angry Birds most played game on Windows Phone 7

Angry Birds are no longer angry with Windows Phone users. The money making game has acknowledged as the most played game on Windows Phone 7 platforms. The game was launched with much enthusiasm on June 29, 2011 on Microsoft’s Smart Phone platform.  The combined list has been prepared by Xbox Live’s Major Nelson.  The list contains 20 top performing games judged on the basis on global unique users connected to Xbox Live during last year.  After Angry Birds, another game which smashed worldwide records is Fruit Ninga followed by Plants vs Zombies and Need of Speed Undercover.

With the coming up of popping smart phone games , once might Nintendo DS and Sony’s PlayStation Portable success rate has gown down tremendously. In the beginning, games like Angry Birds got some high voltage criticism from hard core gamers active on leading hand held platforms. But, now, situation is completely opposite. There are gamers, who still like to play on their beloved hand held consoles but the higher priced console games invites gamers to stay away. That’s why, Sony, too tried to offer cheaper games (Mini) on PlayStation Portable but the end result was not satisfactory.

The success of Angry Birds is not limited to Windows Phone 7. The internet is abuzz with number of fake Angry Birds typed game. Last month, I downloaded, fake Angry Birds on my Samsung Star II. And, it’s running absolutely fine on Java enabled Star II.

Halo 4 is exclusive to Xbox 360, says Microsoft

Holiday season has already kicked off with fabulous response. One of the biggest grosser this year Call of Duty: Modern Welfare 3 opened with awesome response in major gaming territories. Now, its turn of Microsoft share t something important yet shocking .The company has finally announced that  Halo 4 is exclusive to Xbox 360. There were rumors that the next iteration to Halo Reach might be launched on a new platform.

Though, rumors of Xbox 720 have already making waves on internet. So, we have to assume that Xbox 360 as a platform is going to stay for a while. There are many reasons for Xbox 360 to be an ultimate console not only this year but in 2013 as well. Firstly, Xbox is doing a decent job in getting consumers; recent numbers by NPD says so. Secondly Kinect, Microsoft answer to Wii has opened new vistas for developers besides gaming. Thirdly, Xbox Live has emerged as a winner not only in getting gamers together but also in social front. We will see more usage of Kinect in coming months. Developers are yet to squeeze juice from Xbox 360. By the way, Halo 4 is set to arrive in stores by the end of 2012.

For a time being get thrilled with Halo 4 trailer , released by Microsoft at this year’s E3 gaming conference.

Will “Project Cafe” a.k.a Wii 2 get thumbs-up from gaming junkies?

This is the time, when gamers around the world get to know the wackiest news about new launches or simply haunted consoles lineup prepared by BIG 3. As we are not expecting  some thing extraordinary  neither from Sony nor from Microsoft but Nintendo is surely cooking some new console in their gaming kitchen . According to multiple sources, Nintendo will unveil their successor to undisputed king of consoles & my not so favorite Wii at E3. We are not sure whether this is a rumor or company’s marketing tricks to get maximum attention towards 3DS. Why 3DS? Here we are talking about Wii & you are talking about 3DS. Are you Insane or What?

For all gaming junkies, Nintendo has just released their maiden console 3DS in USA & other parts of the world. The console didn’t get that respect (in terms of sales & software lineup) what DS got in 2004. This is one way to seeing the story, other might be Nintendo’s intention to drop the price of Wii in coming days. As we know, Wii looks to old in comparison with PS3 or Xbox 360. Suppose, I want to buy a new console, why would I go for Wii, when the best can be yours for $300? We assume, Nintendo will going to drop Wiis price in the range of $30-50 to improve Wii dwindling share in home console market.

What made Nintendo to launch the successor of Wii so early? Sony has made clear that they will not going to launch PS4 in coming years. On the other hand, Microsoft has just begun working on Xbox 360 successor. So it’s clear that both Sony & Microsoft will launch their respective consoles in late 2014(again rumored). Sony has just announced they made a victorious win against Xbox 360 by selling 50 million PS3 till date; their other weapon PlayStation Move also done quite well. Xbox 360 as you know is kicking Wiis belly since last year.

The main reason, why Nintendo is so adamant in launching new console before competitors is simply because of lack of new games for Wii. If you compare the software line up of Wii vs PS3 or 360, the company failed to attract new developers. And this is the main reason, why Wii is underperforming in comparison with PlayStation 3 & Xbox 360. Both the other players focused on software line up to boost their hardware sales.

When Wii was launched, one of the main reasons for owning this pretty slick machine was its motion controller. It was unique, awkward & magical to some. But now the same controller looks shabby, old & not so powerful when you compare the same with PS Move or Kinect.

One of the most discussed topics on gaming circles from the very beginning was Wiis lethargic hardware. Nothing as changed since 2006, even now most of the gamers especially kids ask questions related to Wiis hardware. I was going through a forum, when one of the gamers asked I am looking for a new console, my dad will going to pay the money.  I want a reliable console, which can be used for atleast 5 years. Should I go for Wii or PS3?  This made me think, why companies like Nintendo want to play with our money. We gamers want a reliable console like Xbox 360 or PS3 (Don’t mind; am biased towards my PS3). If we are paying $300 for PS3, we get awesome collection of games, reliable PlayStation Store & powerful hardware. What else a gamer want from a console. I don’t want a console, which can be used for a year or so & later discontinued. Same happened with Wii, in the starting consumers interest in the machine was unstoppable but later they realized its disabilities like lack of Blu-Ray, Online gaming store like Xbox live or PS store among other.
