Razer Switchblade- Your Portable Gaming machine

Are you suffering from Gaming Phobia ? Than you need to check out this fantabulous report from China. Remember “Razer Switchblade” the gaming netbook(Concept)  shown to us by Razer back in January at CES 2011.  Recently, the company in collaboration with Intel & Tencent confirmed Swichblade’s availability in Chinese market. Though, its price & availability is still to be announced by Razer’s representatives. I must say the concept like Swichblade looks tempting & delicious at first glance. But that doesn’t mean it tastes as good as Strawberry cake. Here are some of its known specifications:

·        7-inch Display
·        Intel’s latest Z670(Atom Processor)
·        Supports Windows 7
·        3G & Wifi
·        Headphone jack
·        USB 3.0
·        Mini HDMI

If you look at the specifications its pretty comparable with latest computing device of today.  The coolest feature of this pretty machine has to be its Keyboard . Here you don't find an ordinary physical Keyboard, instead a programmed keyboard , which can be changed from Qwerty to gaming mode as per your preference . The illuminating keys will attract you the most.

What about the games? Are we going to see any App store?  I know your head is full of unanswered questions. Let me clarify for your convenience, the company has tied up with Tencent for games and other services. But there is no word about any App store.

Your comparison with Alienware M11x or ipad for instance is off no use. The machine falls some where between a laptop & Tablet. But it’s very close to PC gaming. That’s why company chooses China for its global launch. For your information, China PC gaming is pegged at $ 4.8 Billion in revenues. The country boosts 457 million Internet users, more than any other country. So, intelligent decision taken by Razer’s marketing people. The machine will be “Affordable “for sure.

What do you think about “Razer Switchblade “. So what do you think about Razer’s concept?  Will “Switchblade” change the way we way play games?  Send us your opinion about the posts via Twitter, Facebook or simply comment under the post.

Alienware's M14x to lure gamers with its monstrous specs

After a long gap, we get to see a gaming laptop leaked by some Chinese site. Dell’s upscale brand Alienware, known for its Aurora series is going to launch M14x laptop in coming days. Lot of buzz is there about its specs & features. The laptop (as seen in the image) comes in RED chaises (Dell will add more colors 4 sure). Let’s talk about specs; the laptop comes with Core i7 quad-core processor, 14-inch HD display, NVIDIA GPU, 8 cell battery, 8 GB of RAM , 750 GB of space , wifi & Hdmi among other.  Dell has yet to confirm its existence. As far pricing is concerned, we hope it will retail upwards of $1000 mark. The machine looks bulky, maintaining Alienware’s culture. PC gaming is on ventilator, sales are down with few developers making quality games for PC Audiences. Recently, Microsoft admitted that “Future of PC gaming is Terrifying “. Expect similar comments from other big developers in coming days. My Question to Alienware is why they don’t foray into tablets.  Expect similar comments from other big developers in coming days. Tablet market is booming at present, there is no healthy competition except for few such as Apple & Sony. Incidentally, Apple never admitted that Ipad is meant for gaming but now they keep counting its performance with latest generation consoles, thanks to its dual core A5 chip. Another wealthy competitor in the gaming tablet market will be Sony’s rumored PlayStation centric gaming tablet. Though details are pretty sketchy at the moment, but analyst believes that it might give Ipad run of its money. So going by above mentioned instances, it’s clear that Tablets might become the 1st choice among gamers
